OK, this thing with the twitchy left eye and the daily headaches? That can stop anytime. Jeez. I'm not THAT stressed. Not by half. Especially now that my wallet's been found.
I don't have tons of experience with twitchy eyes, but headaches? I know headaches, and they don't necessarily have to have anything to do with emotional stress. (Or, if they started because of a stressor, that doesn't mean they'll end when the stressor ends.)
By any chance do you (1) work in an office lit with fluorescent lights and/or (2) have a CRT monitor at work? The weird spectrum of fluorescent light, and the flicker rates of CRTs and old-fashioned fluorescents with magnetic ballasts, can give even non-migraineurs cranky noggins.
Yes and no. But this has been the case at home, too. And it's not something that happens on a regular basis. Just the past week. Well, the headaches have only been since Friday.
There's a neat trick with tennis balls a physical therapist taught me years ago; I still use it with some success for muscle tension headaches.
Get two tennis balls and duct-tape them together. Lay down on the floor with your knees up (to support your lower back). Take a small guest-towel and roll it up. Place it under the bottom of your neck near your shoulders, to hold the tennis balls in place. Place the tennis balls above the towel, under the occipital points on the top of your neck where it meets the base of your skull. Roll up and down a little until you feel them hit the trigger points. Lay right there for 5-10 minutes until you feel the muscles in your face melt and slide down the sides of your head :-)
I've sort of done that with my fingers before, for headaches. Sometimes it works, sometimes not, and it usually doesn't work for long. I might give it a shot later, but right now...work to do.
Howdy! Just wandered in here, and, whoop!, this kind of question is the stuff of my days. Ok: 1. Twitchy eyes: also called myokemia. A tick, jerking or jumping of eyelid muscles. Underlying causes: eyestrain, day-to-day stress, and/or an imbalance of body electrolytes.
Things that help: If you have eyeglasses, use them. If you don't get your eyes checked; you might need some.
Chill a bit; go throw the frisbee for the family mastodon. Talk to your tropical fish. Sing to the houseplants.
Boost your dietary calcium and potassium. Cut back on salt. Have a banana!
2. Daily headaches: more of a poser. Where does your head hurt? What seems to trigger them? How often do they present? How bad on a scale of ten? Are they bad enough to see your physician? If so, do so.
With a patient with myokemia and headaches, I'd guess you use your eyes a great deal in the course of day. (Desk job, desk hobbies :-) ), and you likely need some glasses for close work.
Well, they both seem to have stopped over the past couple of days, so yay! I don't need glasses for close-up stuff, just far away, and even that isn't too bad. I have a pair, but I rarely NEED need them.

Any help? G'luck!
