1. I now possess two new Sonia Kashuk beauty tools. The first is a hairbrush that Allure has said is comparable to a Mason Pearson (and customer reviews from people who own both of those agree), but for about 1/10th the price. It's awesome. The second is a lash comb/brow brush with a METAL lash comb. No more breaking lash combs, and it goes through my lashes much, much better. Usually, I only see those at Sephora, for about twice the price.

2. I managed to find blackberry jam WITH seeds in it at the Christmas Tree Shop, for [livejournal.com profile] pierceheart. Ha! It's on the top shelf of the fridge, babe. :) I also got a box of 100 calorie packs of soy crisps there. You won't like them, [livejournal.com profile] pierceheart: they're sweet, not savory.

3. I now have brown tights, two new pairs of black tights, and three new thongs. I needed those. I tossed about five old pairs of underwear which were on their last legs. The tights will be good when it gets colder.

4. I just had yummy Thai seafood udon soup for lunch.

5. I watched Shallow Grave on Comcast On Demand last night. This needs a sublist of positives all its own.
--5a. Ewan McGregor
--5b. Christopher Eccleston
--5c. Christopher Eccleston's naked butt
--5d. Ewan McGregor's character at one point is watching The Wickerman on TV. I recognized it before they showed the screen, as soon as I heard, "Oh god! Oh Jesus Christ!" :)
--5e. On Demand means I can rewind and pause on 5c. :D

Bonus Positive: No work tomorrow! Haircut instead! Yay!

OMG YES you need to see Shallow Grave! I don't like CE's specs in that movie, but when he takes them off...hot as ever.

The Sonia Kashuk stuff is indeed exclusive to Target. Here (http://www.target.com/Kashuk-Tools-Bristle-Hair-Brush/dp/B000P4CAEK/qid=1197783696/ref=br_1_1/602-1749658-2003027?ie=UTF8&node=13418071&frombrowse=1&rh=&page=1) are details on the hairbrush. The bristles are small clumps of fine, soft, dark bristles surrounding a longer, stiffer, white bristle. The white bristles get through tangles easily, and the dark ones distribute scalp oils and smooth your hair nicely.

The lash comb is very cool. :)

oh, see specs are hot. unless they're shaded. but corrective lens sorts of things? WAY hot.

i do love the bookish nerdy type. reading books makes them smart. :)

I don't mind specs in general, but these ones just don't suit him.

Re:

#2 Blackberry jam with seeds is just WAY better than without. pierceheart has good taste. :-)

#3 Yay for new tights!

#5 In grad school, I took a Hitchcock film class. Our final project was to pick a modern film and analyze it for Hitchcock-ian influences. I chose Shallow Grave and probably watched it over 30 times, both to write my paper and afterward because I just loved it. This was before I knew Ewan McGregor or Christopher Eccleston--I think that was the first time I ever saw either of them in anything!

It was the first time I saw Christopher Eccleston too, but I barely paid attention to him because I was all swoony over Ewan McGregor after seeing him in Trainspotting!

Now, though, I just keep thinking, "holy shit...if I were Juliet, the woman living with them, I would be having SO MUCH FUN. She is WASTING that situation."

Congratulations on the day off! I will also be celebrating a "surprise" break from work. What kind of haircut will you be getting?

I still haven't seen Shallow Grave, and as a Danny Boyle fangirl, this just won't do. Have you seen Sunshine? Cillian Murphy provides the eye candy, and it's scary sci-fi.

I'm really just getting a long-overdue trim, including a touch-up of my long layers. I should have gotten one in July!

Shallow Grave is made of awesome. I saw Sunshine in the theater with [livejournal.com profile] dahveed76 when it came out. Awesome. Freakin' scary. Cillian Murphy's not really my type, but it was a damned good movie.

Sonia Kashuk has a METAL lash comb? I'm so making a pilgrimage to Tar-jay. (I love Allure. It's like having Pat McGrath, Patricia Wexler and Sally Hershberger on your own personal beauty team.)

Yes, this is why I love Target, too: only place you can get Sonia Kashuk stuff. I adore her tools. I haven't yet tried her actual makeup, but I might sometime. I'm generally more satisfied by the other makeup I have than by the other tools I have, though.
