Free Will Astrology horrorscope, courtesy of Rob Brezsny:
Please don't wear a t-shirt that says what I saw on the canary yellow t-shirt of the Japanese tourist at JFK airport: "Sorry, I'm a loser." I also beg you not to read Ethan Trex's book How to Seem Like a Better Person Without Actually Improving Yourself. It's very important, in my astrological opinion, that you not demean or underestimate yourself in the coming days. In fact, I'll go so far as to say that you have a sacred duty to exalt your beauty and exult in your talents. Now go read Walt Whitman's Song of Myself, and periodically murmur the first line all week long: "I celebrate myself, and sing myself."

I do love that poem. I love Whitman in general. I've been feeling a bit blah lately, so perhaps this is good advice. I need to get myself out of the depression rut.

I want to know, though: can I wear this tee-shirt? I have it, and it amuses me mightily. :)

Anyway, to exalt my beauty and talents:

1. I am having a rather good hair day.
2. I look darn good in this shirt. I need more tops with twisted fronts that create a v-neck. So flattering.
3. I am a really good cook, and this evening, I am looking forward to making polenta with white beans, tomatoes, mushrooms, and sage. NOM.

OK, that's enough for now. :)

How can beauty such as yours possibly need ANY more exalting?

Well, I think they mean praise my own beauty. And yeah, I've been kinda "blah, my skin is awful and I have gained so much weight!" lately, so a reminder to appreciate my physical self is a good thing. And praise from others is always nice as well! :)

Thanks, dear. :) I think I need to tell MYSELF nice stuff more often. After all, I see me more than anyone else does, and I see my flaws more, but I need to appreciate myself in spite of them.

Generally speaking, I have good self esteem and think I'm quite pretty, but every once in a while, it goes kaput. This usually happens when I have gained some weight, or when I'm having frustratingly blotchy skin.

My self esteem used to be in a black pit of Hades...seriously. It's gotten alot better over the years and with lots of therapy and taking better care of me, but I still have those days where no matter what, I won't see good things in that mirror.

And I never really like photos of myself.

For what it's worth, I always thought you were (1) a total doll, (2) a very good human being (never underestimate the power of that one, when the world is full of People Who Suck) and (3) exceedingly funny.

Thank you. :) I do need to do this for myself, though, and not just fish for compliments from others.

But it's always good to know the fishies like you too.. :-) (which I guess explains the office pet there... ) ;-)

Yes! Instead of fishing for compliments, I can compliment my fish. Moby Dick, you are a particularly stunning shade of iridescent blue, and your little fishy mouth is awfully cute!

Yes... See how swimmingly that went... :-) and with name like Moby Dick I really need to avoid any puns that reference a whale tail (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Whale_tail)...

I trust you will reimburse me for the keyboard replacement costs, now that it is dripping with tea?

I'm sorry, but teasing your keyboard voids it's warranty....

Though I hear Apple's latest offering has the solution to all the latest keyboard problems... (http://www.theonion.com/content/video/apple_introduces_revolutionary)
