1. Whoa, I have a social life this weekend even without [livejournal.com profile] pierceheart! I may be having dinner and watching movies with [livejournal.com profile] kyrian03 on Friday night if she's still available. I am having brunch with [livejournal.com profile] emilytheslayer and others for her birthday on Saturday morning. I am going to the home of [livejournal.com profile] geoogo and [livejournal.com profile] cutieyum on Saturday night for a pajama and hot cocoa party. :) YT* will bring unsweetened almond milk, cocoa powder, Splenda, and maybe a little mint extract. And possibly some light munchies.

2. Weighing myself this morning made me sigh with relief. Yes, when you weigh yourself makes a big difference. The afternoon after you've had a big brunch is very different from when you first wake in the morning. It's still not a GREAT weight for me, but it's actually about 2 1/2 pounds less than it was on Monday afternoon.

3. Bento for today: Indian spiced rice as I had yesterday, TJ's Asian-style marinated chicken breast, and a whole lot of Asian-seasoned sauteed spinach. Nom! I had some gorgeous oatmeal this morning for breakfast, too.

4. Walking home from Wellington last night was a slushy, snowy, dirty mess. Ick. Thankfully, I'm going to Davis this evening to run some errands, and meeting [livejournal.com profile] pierceheart there for a ride to the grocery store and thence home.

5. It looks like YT is going to be a naughty nurse at Arisia next year! :D The people who responded to me on the community and in a private LJ message assured me that it's not an invite-only gig, and that my help would be appreciated. Rock on. Now, to plot a costume! Muahaha! I'm glad I can get out there and use my tits powers for good, and encourage people to give blood even though I can't, myself. I DID sign up to be a bone marrow donor, though. That makes me feel good, too. Especially after what a friend's nephew went through to find a donor.

6. My fishy is so darn cute. I was putting him back in his tank yesterday after cleaning it. To avoid contaminating the clean water with the dirtier water from the cup he was in as much as possible, I scooped him out in my hand and put him in the tank. I sort of held my hand loosely around him so he could swim out of his own accord. He peeked his little fishy face out for a little bit, and just sat there like that. Then he swam off. So cute! :)

tks for mentioning the pajama party - i'd forgotten to add it to my calendar.

? re: bento - do you eat it at room temp, or heat it up?

I heat up the bento, because I refrigerate it until I'm ready to eat.

Mine had a little picture of a microwave on the paper insert in the packaging, with the word "OK" on it. [livejournal.com profile] fabricdragon said that meant it was ok to microwave as long as I took off the lids.

[livejournal.com profile] perseph12 has been trying to convince me to be a Naughty Nurse. It would be a good opportunity to make use of my custom "Dr. Phroomy" lab coat...

She was very enthusiastic about her experience as a NN. She may yet talk me into it, too!

Yes to Friday

I will definately be there Friday. For some reason my e-mail does not let me send from work. We can work out details later. YEAH!

Yay! Movie and dinner it is. Maybe I'll do veggie burgers and oven-fries or something.

Naughty Nurse? Awesome!

Hrm, I'm starting to have quite a collection of Naughty Nurses in my acquaintance...I wonder what that means? ;)

It means that clearly you have a lot of female friends who are both naughty and do-gooders. :D

Heh. You are of the same mind as me, I see. Though I do keep breathing. :)

Since you talk about TJ's a lot, I thought you should know about this book (http://www.cookingwithtraderjoes.com/). It's one of the coolest, most practical cook books I've ever used. It'll change your life. In that unfreaky, non-biblical sort of way.

That looks cool. I've done some good stuff with their prepared foods and basic ingredients. I don't know if I want a cookbook that's probably based mostly around prepared foods, but hey, Wil Wheaton likes it. Of course, Wil Wheaton also wants to punch Gordon Ramsay in the back of the head, while I want to give him a hug. Especially after seeing him get all teary-eyed when he brought the pigs he raised to be slaughtered.

I can and do donate blood, but I signed up to be a marrow donor *before* I knew what it involved. Well, if it ever comes, I'll deal with it.

Did I say I'm diabetic and hate needles?

Ack! Not fun, then. I don't mind needles, and although I don't like pain (except the good kind), I can cope, so...I figure it's worth it, if it saves a life some day.
