Feb. 11th, 2009 09:23 amNot-so-single white female (ok, more sort of olive-y, but definitely female) seeks single-or-not man of any color, maybe age 28-45 or so for wicked good times. Yeah, and bad ones, because those happen too, and I'd rather not have them be deal-breakers.
Me: extroverted, enthusiastic, spiritual, hedonistic, in need of a little more love in my life, and with love to give. Far from the mainstream but well adjusted. Strong and capable of standing on my own two feet, but appreciative of a helping hand when things are rough. Smart. Thoughtful. Occasionally witty. Fairly easy on the eyes, depending on your tastes.
You: extroverted, sane, stable, knowing what you want out of life, and full of enjoyment of life, but with room for me in it. Good at communication. Comfortable in yourself. Attractive to me physically and emotionally, in any of the many ways that's possible. Smart. Unconventional. Imaginative.
Goals: once-a-week-or-so dates, including sleepovers, possibly the occasional entire weekend here and there. Yummy dinners at home and in restaurants. Silly jokes that no one else gets because they weren't there. Long, in-depth conversations about serious stuff. Really hot sex and BDSM play. Occasional together-ness at special events, perhaps even at holidays. Snuggling in movie theaters. Hikes in the woods. Love. Romance. Exploration. Support. Growth. An actual good non-living-together, non-marriage relationship that has real meaning and value for both of us, enough that you will work with me to keep it going, and going WELL.
Got all that, Universe? Great. Now, get it out there!

Date: 2009-02-11 04:58 pm (UTC)I'm here because of
I work for Sonos (see http://www.sonos.com/ ) writing software and doing electrical engineering, about 50% of each. I live in East Cambridge with an adorable tabby cat named Sputnik who was rescued from the lawn outside a dorm at MIT. I'm very geeky but not so enamoured of the geek social scene (and nominally poly but not so enamoured of the poly social scene either). I am currently more-or-less single.
So... check out my LJ posts I guess, although they probably don't give a great deal of insight into me. If you feel like contacting me, I'm btober on gmail.

Date: 2009-02-11 05:03 pm (UTC)I'm never quite sure how to deal with stuff like this from people I don't already know at least a little bit, but it's nice to meet you. :) Sputnik is an awesome name for a cat, though, I must say. I don't do much of the IM-stuff, though. I'm on LJ a lot, however, and easy enough to reach here.
Fills out application...
Date: 2009-02-11 05:20 pm (UTC)I'm happy to give details about myself and would like to hear you talk about yourself as well.
Let me know if you'd be similarly interested.
Re: Fills out application...
Date: 2009-02-11 05:32 pm (UTC)Tell ya what, at the VERY least I'm going to friend you here on LJ, and make more effort to seek you out in those places where I tend to run into you. That sort of thing. Sound like a plan for starters?
Re: Fills out application...
Date: 2009-02-11 06:57 pm (UTC)I know that several of my closest friends like you, which is a good thing. :)
That's excellent indeed. I shall try to live up to my reputation.
Do you need an off-LJ way to contact me?

Date: 2009-02-11 08:15 pm (UTC)The Flea, not so much. It would require getting babysitting, and an hours' drive each way makes that difficult. Or worse one of us would go and the other have to stay at home. We try not to do that if we can avoid it.
So if you're up for Diesel this coming Tuesday I usually get there around 6, plus or minus 15 minutes. I'm usually gone by 7:30 unless there's a specific plan.
I thought you had a dance class on Tuesdays? Also, I'd be happy to chat off-LJ if you were up for that.
Re: Fills out application...
Date: 2009-02-11 08:19 pm (UTC)I should be able to make it to Diesel on Tuesday, and should be there when you are. And you can certainly e-mail me if you like! I think you should be able to see my e-mail addy on my profile page.

Date: 2009-02-11 07:00 pm (UTC)There are a couple of people in "the crowd" who seem to go out of their way to be friendly to me, and it really helps my self-esteem.

Date: 2009-02-11 06:00 pm (UTC)You are yet another person who I always run into but haven't friended on LJ, and I will now proceed to do so. And you're another who I'd be happy to get to know better!

Date: 2009-02-11 06:33 pm (UTC)"Wow, there are just SO many ways a girl could take that! :P"
Really? Huh. I hope I wasn't misconstrued.
"And you're another who I'd be happy to get to know better!"
Yay!

Date: 2009-02-11 06:21 pm (UTC)(Alas, I ultimately passed on Arisia --I was only offered a 2-hour booth space on Saturday and I finally judged that to be far too much effort for potentially no return. I'm now girding my loins for the next Boston ComicCon instead... at least I managed to score the full 2 days there!)
*le sigh*
Date: 2009-02-11 11:32 pm (UTC)Good luck with the Universe.
Maybe I'll get a chance to look you up when your up here in the wild north or I manage to travel down to your area.

Gorgeous and fabulous you are! Dammit! And why would I lie? I'm your friend *and* I'm gay. Girl, you got it *all* going on, :-)
By the way...quite inspiring.
*wanders off to find yet another rabbit trail in the hopes of finding more love there*
