According to the other admin here at work, I'm eligible for paid vacation exactly six months from my date of hire, and don't have to wait until the first of the following month. Yay! That means that I am eligible for vacation on the 24th. Which means...I could theoretically go to Stones Rising from the 27th-1st. Hmm. Should I? Shouldn't I? Should I save the money for King Richard's Faire? I do need a corset...but I've never been to a Pagan festival before. I should decide soon. Any input appreciated.

well, my best input would be that I need to find out if the army is going to let me go. My plan includes attending the Maryland Renfaire on labor day as well. It is MUCH better than king ripoff's.

I went to that once. It was pretty cool. I don't remember it being much different/better than KRF, though. It may have been because I wasn't in costume, and I was with someone I had only known a month or so.

Well, MDRF allows you to use MONEY to pay for food, not tickets. therefore you know exactly how much things cost. Most of the people working MDRF are from the DC/Batl goth and pagan scene. Also, they actually use an historical referent when doing the characters. It had been King Henry VIII before the man who played him died. I'm not sure who it is now.

I have had more fun at MDRF than at KRF. And i have attended both more than once, in groups, and alone

Where the hell did my other entry and all related comments go? I checked out the support page and apparently there are other people whose journals are not showing up. Grr. I logged a request for support, because I can only view my entries if I link to them through an e-mailed response. Hopefully they'll fix it soon.
