I'm glad it's going to be warm today. For those of you who haven't seen

pierceheart's LJ, we've been having heat issues. We went to bed on Tuesday night with the thermostat set to 60, and the temperature reading about 62. We woke up with the thermostat still set to 60, but the temperature over 70. WTF? I turned the heat all the way down before leaving, but when

pierceheart got home, the temperature was at about 83. He had to shut the furnace off entirely in the basement. Our landlord came over last night to see what needed to be done. The language barrier (he speaks Mandarin) makes communication a bit tricky, but I brought him over to the thermostat and demonstrated physically where we'd had it set and what it had been reading. Then I explained that

pierceheart had turned off the furnace until we get that fixed. The landlord should be back tonight or tomorrow to fix it. I'm glad this didn't happen during the really cold season! Burst pipes would NOT be fun, nor would wearing three sweaters and four pairs of socks around the house.

Anyway, I have an awesome bento for today, because it contains a purple potato! I roasted it to retain as much of the color as possible. I have that with some Penzeys Chesapeake Bay seasoned shrimp, and a salad of cucumbers and tomatoes with a splash of red wine vinegar and a little low-fat feta. Yum.

sionnain just watched ExistenZ, which made me want to see it again for fangirly reasons. Mmm, Chris Eccleston and Callum Keith Rennie. :)
