Some disappointments:

1. I did not get the dress. Apparently, someone outbid me in the last few hours of bidding. Oh well.

2. I do not have a new fridge. Well, I HAVE a new fridge, but it is not yet usable. Landlord needs to come back tonight and do something.

3. I do not have functioning heat. The landlord has been alerted to this problem. He does not, apparently, understand what pierceheart meant about it probably being the "relay", so some pointing out may be in order.

Some NON-disappointments:

1. Antico Forno in the North End has very tasty food. The calamari appetizer was wonderful.

2. My cat is damn cute, and did not bug me while I slept, even though she slept on me.

3. Still smitten. :)

4. It is going to be a BEAUTIFUL day.

Yep, the good outweighs the bad this morning!

Yeah, I might end up getting something new but vintage inspired instead of vintage. I'll be less afraid to wear it, and more likely to be able to send it back if it doesn't fit. :)

You should start hitting the Garment District every week or so to see if they get something in that you like. I recently found a dress there that is new (still used but not 1950's) that has a very vintage look to it. They also have the vintage section so you might make a good score.

I don't get out there as often as I'd like, but yeah, I always keep an eye out for that stuff when I'm there. :) That, and leather pants and skirts for way cheaper than you can get them elsewhere!

I needed jeans a few weeks ago and zzbottom turned it more into a quest to get me the things that I always complain about while trying to get ready and not feeling there are things to wear.

I left with 3 pants, 4 skirts, 3 shirts, 3 dresses and a jacket. I spent more than I was expecting, but sooo much less than if I tried to get the same quality at the mall.

When the weather gets nicer the walk there is a nice one and then there is always the beer at CBC post shopping :)

Yes! CBC, how I love thee. I do end up getting most of my clothes at GD. Alas, last time I went there, in search of pants, it disappointed me. I tried on pretty much every pair of khaki, tan, or beige pants in my general size range. Nothing worked.

It is very hit or miss and can take dedication to find the gems.

On CBC have you tried the Belgium that they currently have on tap? I tried it a few weeks ago and loved it. Having CBC across the street from the office can be a danger :)

The pink and gold one, because the starting bid was set very very low, it was ending the same day, and no one had yet bid on it. I figured, I couldn't lose much.

Well, Antico Forno was part of it. :) I met JB at South Station and we went there for dinner. We stopped on the way back to get some bottled water (he's allergic to fluoride, of all things). Then we went back to my place... where the landlord and his ?wife? were in the kitchen, working on the fridge. Oy. But we played with Lucy and I gave him the grand tour. We watched the first episode of Torchwood, too.
