fangirl715's oatmeal chocolate chip cookies, a.k.a. The Best Goddamn Chocolate Chip Cookies EVAR. I'm glad I snagged the recipe from her before moving out. :) Oh wait, the craving is perfectly explicable: hormones. Oy.
Last night, I bought tons and tons of juice, eggs, cream, cheese, and other stuff I need for the shower on Sunday. Hopefully I can get coffee and tea at TJs at work tomorrow, and start baking quiches tomorrow night. Friday will be Buying Cupcake Stuff And Fruit For Fruit Salads night, and possibly Starting To Bake Cupcakes night. I will also do that on Saturday. I found the simplest basic quiche recipe and method, and I will use that as a base, changing the star ingredients around so I can have bacon quiche, caramelized onion and spinach quiche, mushroom quiche, and asparagus quiche. I have recipes for banana cupcakes and peanut butter frosting (I'm adding chocolate chips to the cupcakes and cocoa powder to the frosting), and for coconut cupcakes with coconut frosting. Yum! I'm looking forward to the cupcakes.
You know what? I'm also actually looking forward to spending all this time in the kitchen. :D
***LOOKING FOR FAVORS*** Is anyone going to the shower who could do me the favor of picking up three dozen nice bagels, preferably all sans peppers, and bringing them to the shower? I will reimburse you entirely, of course, as those of us working on the shower will be pooling and splitting expenses. Also, is there anyone going who can loan me one or two very large serving bowls and a full-sized teapot or two?
Tonight is the first night of a several-day date for my boy and his sweetie, so I have a date with JB tonight. I am finally going to be able to cook for him. Yay! I've got a couple of duck breasts which I'm going to season lightly and brush with pomegranate molasses, and pan-roast. I'm going to serve that with roasted garlic mashed potatoes and a caprese salad. Sort of a hearty Mediterranean thing, overall. Gods, I love cooking. Even when I stress over it, I love it. I'm such a nerd. :)
