[Error: unknown template qotd]The little click that my old alarm clock used to make before the radio kicked on to wake me up. The radio coming on didn't bug me so much, but that click was what actually woke me up every time. I HATED it.

It's the same sound the old dial up modems used, and, no, they can't - it's how to transmit binary data audibly.
