Ups and downs

+ It's a ridiculously summery day today! Hooray! I'm glad it's not going to STAY this hot, but it's lovely right now.

- I don't have time to take a walk on my lunch break today because I'm doing the reading/mentoring thing. Oh well. At least I like the kid!

- My bento leaked soy sauce on me today. Meh. I had to wash the bag and sponge the side of my dress when I got to work.

+ The bento contains 2 mini-onigiri with furikake sprinkles to top them with, some fishcake, and stir-fried carrots, sugar snap peas, and red pepper. Nom!

+ Tonight is a date night with pierceheart. We're contemplating Sabur.

- No date with JB this week because I need a night to pack for my conference. :(

+ The conference means that I get to sleep in a while on Thursday before heading to the train station! And I get to expense my travel, hotel room, and food in Portland! Nothing ridiculous, obviously, but it's nice to know I can do this. In my old job, I was the one who processed the expense reports, not the one who filed them!

- The ring that pierceheart got me as a present for our first anniversary broke enough that I can't really wear it anymore. Most of the marcasite chips were already gone and one of the onyx side pieces was cracked. Now the other onyx side piece is gone. Waaah! I loved that ring! I'm still keeping it, even if I can't wear it.

+ I still have the earrings he gave me on our second anniversary! I'm wearing them now.

Take it to a jeweler, they can probably replace most of the missing stuff. I've done it with rings and things that have lost stones.

It's not exactly a fine-jewelry type ring with good settings to hold in the stones, though. It's from Pyramid Collection.
