Ups and downs

pierceheart this morning for six weeks. The apartment's going to be lonely without him!
+ Brought in beer bread to work (easiest and fastest thing for me to make), and hopefully it will get eaten.
+ Also got rid of my leftover mini oatmeal raisin cookies and the candy that is the spoils of skee-ball at Funspot, by putting them in the kitchen at work.
- Crappy weather again today. Summer, where are you?
+ Plans to make buffalo chili in the crock pot tomorrow. I'll soak the pinto beans overnight tonight, and will brown the meat in advance tonight. I'll also chop everything else and measure out spices and stuff tonight, and get it all ready to dump into the crock pot in the morning in as little time as humanly possible.
+ More work-validation and even some cash to go with it! I might have mentioned that a woman who runs training seminars for researchers liked the presentation my coworker and I did at the conference. Well, she's asked us to do it again as a seminar through her company, with a few tweaks! It won't be until November. She said there's a $250 honorarium, which I believe is for both of us, not each, but still: $125 is not to be sneezed at, especially considering that the bulk of our work is already done!
