On a recommendation from disownedheidi, I just made an appointment for a bra fitting at Intimacy in Copley Place on Friday afternoon. I've gotten used to spending <$40 on a bra, and might end up spending about $50 or more if I get one there. But I really, really want a GOOD bra. Of course, this means I'll probably want to start hand-washing bras so they last longer. It's a lot of money to spend (IF I find something I want to spend it on), but I'm quite excited about this.

According to a fitter with Addition Elle (a plus size store here in Canada), I'm a triple D or E depending on the manufacturer. Bras cost *a lot* when your size is anything over a C. :( ::grumbles::

Well, I've been getting decent bras in a 36DD for about $38, but I might be a 34DD or 36DDD, and I know I should be able to get a better bra for me than the ones I'm wearing.

hhmmm, Tom offered to get me such a fitting, since I'm always complaining about bras that don't hold where they should, ride up where they shouldn't. I just haven't gotten a round tuit. I wonder if it's the same place (I'll ask).

If it's Lady Grace and not Intimacy that he was thinking of, by chance, I'll warn you that my experience with Lady Grace was less than good. They weren't good fitters there.

No, not there. I've been to Lady Grace and yeh, not impressed. It was some other place in town, so I'm suspecting it might be this one. I know it wasn't cheap.

I think they are around $100 or so, but I have heard of coupons that they send out. It wouldn't surprise me if you hosted that they would give a discount to the host like they do with Mary Kay.

I stopped by there a year or so back to be fitted--usually one seems to end up at least one cup size bigger and one band size smaller, which was the case w/me. The results while wearing one of their bras was, ahem, impressive, but (a) all the bras anywhere near my range were at least $100, and (b) I've never been able to be comfortable enough in an underwire to wear one, much less one that's considerably snugger than I'm used to. For those for whom the latter isn't a problem, the former might be, but they are very nice, and very sexy, bras.
