badseed1980Aw man. Frank McCourt is dead. I've heard a lot of people say some snarky stuff about Angela's Ashes, but it made me laugh and it made me cry. I haven't seen Cats, so I can't say whether or not it was better. But it moved me. I'm glad he lived to write that.

Date: 2009-07-20 02:32 am (UTC)I loved Frank McCourt with all of my Irish heart. I loved Angela's Ashes, I even loved 'Tis (the much maligned sequel), and I *especially* loved Teacher Man, as he is the sort of teacher I always wished to have, and to be.
I'm glad I heard the news from you, and not from someone less kind to his memory.
