OK, so I kind of asked for this.
Nov. 12th, 2009 07:16 amWhen
pierceheart first started getting sick, I tried to keep washing my hands, taking the old multivits, and generally working to prevent myself from catching it. I added a brief prayer asking, "Gods, if I do get sick, please do me a favor and don't let it happen until after I've given my presentation so I don't have to put a whole bunch of people out." Well, a brief and mild cough over the weekend made me a bit scared, but it was better by Tuesday when I gave my presentation. I thought I'd escaped.
But then...
Yesterday I was feeling just fine until afternoon, when I started sneezing and sniffling and feeling kind of tired. I managed to deal pretty well for the rest of my date, but by the time J left at about 10, I was feeling pretty run down. I went to bed and fell asleep at about 11, in spite of sniffles. I woke in the middle of the night to find I was having an easier time breathing than I had been, and thought, "Oh, maybe I'm actually getting better." Well, no. I woke up a number of other times in the night, or really was half-asleep for most of it. Then at about 4 am, I realized I just wasn't going to sleep anymore, and I felt like ass. I stayed in bed until my alarm went off, got up, used the bathroom, and crawled back to bed to read. But I'm no more comfy in bed than out of it, so now I'm here sitting at the computer. But I need to get out to the kitchen and get coffee and non-caffeinated liquids. Oy. Good thing there is oatmeal and yogurt in the fridge for me already. I hate the fact that walking out there will make everything hurt. Meh.
