pierceheart tonight! What with all the time we both spent being sick or busy lately, we haven't had one of those in a while. Going to Gargoyles will be fun. I've got a coupon for 25% off the food portion of the bill, which is pretty sweet. It'll be good to be able to do this before he leaves for DC.
Tomorrow night, I am on my own, and I am going to KNIT. :D I'll finish my second mitten and hopefully have time to start my shawl. I'm getting the needle I need to knit that tomorrow evening. Saturday I'll probably do some cooking and cleaning and knitting, and also hopefully get out somewhere. Maybe to go Christmas shopping? And then Sunday, I'm going to a friend's birthday party.
Last night's dinner was pretty awesome. I made burgers with cheddar cheese, chipotle mayo, lettuce, and tomato on ciabatta rolls, and accompanied them with the Easiest Potatoes Ever. There were these teeny tiny little potatoes at Trader Joe's (and they were called just that, "Teeny Tiny Potatoes"). They're like the size of grapes, seriously. I put them on a cookie sheet, spritzed them with olive oil, and roasted them at 400 for about half an hour or so. They were SO good. You pop them in your mouth whole, and they sort of pop when you bite through the skin. And they're deliciously sweet. OM NOM NOM. Oh, and I also made salad with blueberry-pomegranate vinaigrette. Dessert was light ice cream.
I need to think about what I'm going to cook this weekend. In addition to cooking for myself, I want to make some comfort foods for the party and for a friend who is recently bereaved. I've got a few ideas in my head...
