Good things for today

Today already seems to be a happier day than yesterday. Maybe part of that is because I don't have a headache. So here are some happy-making things.

1. I have new boots! I went to DSW, Payless, Marshall's, and TJ Maxx last night. I shopped for almost two hours and bought nothing. Then, I said, "OK, I know it'll be too pricey, but I'll just go to Macy's, and then I'll call it a night." Macy's was having a sale. I got awesome boots. Black, shiny but not patent, just under the knee, rounded point on the toes, 2"-3" heel (which I need so my trousers don't drag), and comfy! And they were half off!

2. I succeeded in making myself a lunch in five minutes this morning, and got out the door in time to walk to Sullivan! I have leftover chicken tagine, raw veggies with hummus, and a blood orange.

3. Some anonymous person complemented my style. That made me happy. I used to have a shitty sense of style through high school, and only started getting a clue in college. It's not always easy for me to find clothes that are flattering and cute and cheap enough that I'll buy them, but I'm glad I go to the effort.

Alas, to take pictures of the boots, I'd have to put my foot up on my desk, and that might look odd to my coworkers, especially given that I'm wearing a skirt that just comes down to the tops of my knees. It's a perfectly professional length, but not for that sort of acrobatics.

3. Yeah, I don't think I've discovered my "style" yet...my shape and lack of height make it difficult. But I think I'm getting closer. College is for experimenting, right? :P

Yup! I seem to have a few different styles, but mostly I try to keep my tops either stretchy or fitted, I love skirts, I wear heels most of the time, and I like pretty, feminine, but noticeable jewelry. Oh, and the Fur Hat of Doom is of course MAD stylin'. :D

I'd love to wear more heels, but I wear a size 4 so they're either very expensive or from the children's aisle. :P

And yes, the Fur Hat of Doom is so very versatile! :D
