This may work!!
Feb. 18th, 2010 07:18 pmOK, so first, the good:
1. The cups fit as perfectly as I could have hoped. DD/DDD was the right answer. Yes!
2. The waist of the skirt is perfect: no muffin top, no bagginess!
Now, the less-good:
1. The halter and ribcage straps are too long. I will have to sew new hooks over sequined areas in order to get enough overlap for them to fit right. That might be a pain in the tuckus.
2. The skirt itself is indeed too long, by about an inch and a half. There is about a 2" space under the major decoration of the skirt, at the hem, which is good. But the hem itself has beading and sequins along it, that also run up the sides slit in the skirt. This is problematic. I can hand-sew a hook, but I haven't the foggiest idea how to hem something this ornate. I would need help from someone who's attacked dance costumes successfully with a sewing machine, I think.
And here's the bad-but-good:

Date: 2010-02-19 01:31 am (UTC)I'm just utterly psyched that the cups fit! I appreciate the advice you gave me about your experiences with their sizing. That's what convinced me this would probably be the right size.
Now I need to hit Windsor Button to see about getting some new hooks, and hopefully find a friend who knows sewing better than I do to help me tack up the hem.

Date: 2010-02-22 01:56 pm (UTC)The rest is just sewing on new hooks by hand, which is quite easy.
And thanks. :)
