+ It's a gorgeous, gorgeous day: crisp but not frigid, and sunny as anything. Nice way to start what looks like it will be a mostly-icky week.

- My keyboard at home is on the fritz. I knocked over a drink on it a few days ago, and it got sticky. On [livejournal.com profile] pierceheart's advice, I unplugged it, rinsed it under running water, and let it dry. When I plugged it in, it didn't work. That might simply be because it hasn't completely dried yet. I'm going to try it again tonight to see if it works. If not, I'm going to get a new keyboard tomorrow.

+ I've got dance class tonight. I'm supposed to try on [livejournal.com profile] nepenthe01's dance bra, if she is able to come to class, so I can see if I like the style of it. I've also brought all my old costumes with the exception of the choli, circle skirt, and harem pants I wear for karsh. My teacher is going to see if anyone in her beginner class is interested in buying them. I hope so!

- I didn't plan my lunch well last night. I have plenty of veggies, but the rest is a veggie sausage patty and two small onigiri with Chinese chicken sausage inside. It'll do, but I could do better. I think I need to whip up some good protein-y things for bentos. That seems to be my stumbling block lately. Maybe I could do some baked falafel.

+ Dinner last night, on the other hand, was awesome. Chicken curry with lots of vegetables, on top of spiced basmati rice. Nom.

+ The ball was fun. I drank more than I should have (though not as much as *ahem* some other people), but I felt all fabulous in my new dress. I couldn't for the life of me get my hair into a French twist, even though I had step-by-step photo instructions for how to do it when you have long hair. It didn't look quite right down, though, even though it looked pretty. So I ended up saying "fuck it" and put it up in a nice soft bun. Looked fine.

I'll suggest the Hungry Girl Falafel again. I've made it a few times and really like it, and not too hard to make.

Awesome! Which book was it in, again?

As far as I know, it's not in a book. It's here: Hungry Girl Falafel (http://www.hungry-girl.com/week/weeklydetails.php?isid=1714)

I don't make the yogurt dip, just the falafel. Then have it with hummus and a pita for lunch.

Nom! I will give that recipe a short.

If it was a sugary or otherwise thick drink like coffee it can take more than just a rinse to clean it out and they can take a long time to dry (liquid between membranes). I find a dishwasher on low heat is good for well made keyboards, then a warm place like above a radiator for 2 or 3 days.

Hmm. It was a martini, and the keys don't seem to be at all sticky anymore. But yeah, still damp. Maybe I'll give it a few extra days and put it somewhere warmer.

Desktop keyboards are usually cheap unless you're going for a Ferrari-type model... Bottom shelf, a few bucks. Decently nice stuff in the 15-20 range.

If you're intent on trying to save it, I have spare KBs available to stand in while the main KB dries. I can bring one to Diesel tomorrow, if you'll be there.

Yeah, I just don't want to waste something without being sure it doesn't work anymore. :) Thanks for the offer of a loaner, but it might be good for me to spend less time in front of a computer screen at home anyway!

My experience with long hair french twists is the hair always bulges out on top, making a strange lump.

This (http://www.longhairlovers.com/hair_styling_french_twist.html) is the method I was trying to use.
