My dance teacher managed to sell two of my three costumes! She won't be getting the check for the highest priced one from her student until next week, so she is hanging onto the costume until then before giving it to her. I appreciate that. Anyway, this'll be $140 in my pocket, between the two of them. Sweet! I have the check for the cheaper one. The mid-priced one didn't sell. I'm not surprised. The white one is good for a person who's top and bottom are proportionate, and both somewhat large. The black skirt and top is pretty flexible and can fit a wide range of medium to large sizes. The black bra cover and belt, though, really only fits someone who's small on the bottom and big on top. Those aren't that common, apparently. I can try it on Bhuz, though I don't think enough beginners are on there for it to get much interest.

Aw, this means that at the recital, I'll see people wearing my old costumes! Cute! :)

I need to pick a recital piece. I kind of want something really upbeat and introduction-y. Maybe "Aman Aman" or "Soode Soode" or "Garoon Garoon." Maybe some other Armenian song with a double name (seriously, what's up with that?). And then there's always "Istemem Babacim" or "Samra ya Samra" And I have been urged to think of a new group number. I'm seriously considering "Fat Bottom Girls." :D

Good on you (and your teacher) for successful sale! I've been thinking about offering my original quasi-Indian/tribal-esqe bra and belt for sale, swap or other mutually beneficial deal. Bra never did fit quite right, and now that I have another set (just needing the standard alterations), I wouldn't mind.

Would you be doing a karsh for a solo? Something more cabaret-ish?

(I double-dog dare ya to do FBG for the group. I'd pay cash money to see that.)

Those songs aren't karsh. They're introduction songs, in 4/4 time. I've done two karsh solos. I need a change! Besides, my new costume isn't good for karsh, and you better believe I want to show it off.

I don't know if we have time to learn a group # in our remaining time. We really should start working on it in the fall if we want it to be ready by spring.
