Last night, I had a couple of bad dreams. In one of them, I was sexually harassed at a party by someone who was apparently a friend of some people I know. I was getting into the shower for some reason, and this guy came in, got naked, got in the shower with me, and tried to grope me. I flipped out at him, and he stopped. Everyone at the party, my friends included, thought I was overreacting. That pissed me off.

The other one was more of a standard-issue blood-and-guts, living-corpses type of nightmare, with one interesting twist: it was a story that was being told by this old woman, which came to life as she was telling it. What makes it weirder is that I had invited her to tell a scary story. And it's like she wasn't telling it with words, but just creating images, which were real. One image I remember her creating was of a good-looking man whose arms and legs had been hacked off, and whose corpse was laying on the floor. At first I felt really sad, like he'd been the hero of a story who'd been killed. Then the corpse opened its eyes, looked over at me, gave me this awful smile, and rolled over towards me. That's when I woke up.

CREEPTASTIC DREAMS, y'all. Why do I get them?

Ewww. Lots and lots of ewwww.

(Sometimes I wonder if our dreaming brains aren't just giant recycling processors, sifting through bits and pieces of whatever movies, stories, etc., we've been exposed to and seems to think they should be sorted together.)

Oh, they definitely do that, and what's more, they often use those bits and pieces to process our emotional and psychological issues, as well.

True. I don't mind those so much...at least I'm getting something out of them. It's the weird, disturbing NON SEQUITUR ones that bug me :-)

*hug* That sounds pretty horrible. A lot of people, myself included, haven't been having very good dreams lately.

I suppose at least the second one was INTERESTING. When I woke up I was able to think, "Huh. That's a really weird dream structure."

Yeah. I'd much prefer that to getting molested in the shower. 8(

Nope. I've had creeptastic dreams ever since I was a kid. Not always, and not all that often, but every once in a while I get a doozy. Neither of these was as bad as some I've had.

I also get really NEATO dreams, too. They're at their most vivid when I'm premenstrual (and I'm kind of there now).
