A very enjoyable evening, indeed.
Jun. 22nd, 2010 08:59 amI posted about this a bit more on a filter, but here's the public scoop: I've been chatting with a guy over e-mail for the past week. I originally sent him a message on OKCupid because in addition to having tons of common interests, he had an exuberance that I really liked. We ended up having dinner and beer together at Cambridge Brewing Company last night. It wasn't all that flirty, really, but put it this way: we had to ask the waitress to give us another minute to decide on dinner THREE TIMES, because we got so engrossed in conversation that we had a hard time paying attention to the menu. And we're both mega-foodies, so that should tell you something. Anyway, the whole evening was like that. Already, I've made a good friend. Don't want to make any predictions about where else it will go , but that in and of itself is awesome. It was after ten when I thought to ask the time, and realized I had to get home to feed the Woogie. He drove me home (I had decided he was probably not an axe murderer), and on the way, we listened to bluegrass covers of Metallica. :)
Oh, and since I had time to kill before meeting him after work, I swung by Garment District. I was planning on just LOOKING at the vintage dresses, just to see what they had. There's rarely much in my size: most of it's too small, some is too big. But this time, there was a gorgeous black cocktail dress that looked about right. "No harm in trying it on," I thought. Well, about $38 worth of harm, since I bought it. Oops. :) It's adorable. Wide V-neck, beaded bodice, high waist, a skirt that makes my hips look a little more prominent than they do on their own, and a bow with long tails on the back. I LOVE the neckline in particular. It's incredibly flattering. And really, that's pretty cheap for a good dress (in GREAT condition) that is versatile and fits me beautifully.
