Adventure on the horizon

In two days, I leave for Anaheim and the APRA conference. I'm really looking forward to this! I've never been to California before. I've never been to a national conference before (just the New England regional one for NEDRA, a member organization of APRA). I haven't flown in years. (Yes, I enjoy flying.) Also, it looks like I am going to get to visit with both j4yx0r and sororbabylon while I'm out there! Oh, and holy crap: gorgeous weather ahead! Weather.com says highs will range between 77 and 80, with almost certainly no rain. Lows will be in the low 60s. :)

I've printed my conference handouts and schedule. I've located a walking map of the Anaheim resort area to be printed in color at home. I've done laundry, and given some thought to what to wear. I wonder if I can sort out my knitting in time to bring that with me? I'm having SO much trouble with this thing. I should give dee_cee a call and ask her if she can help me brainstorm the solution to my problem, since I think she has the same book (D, it's the baby one you gave me that you got for free from work). If not, well, it'll be books and iPod for entertainment.

Oh, this is going to rock like crazy! I love travel!

What days of the week will you be in Anaheim, and is there room in your budget for a fantastic meal w or w/o well aged good wine? http://www.hobbitrestaurant.com/ is in City of Orange, a town or so away. I don't know their prices these days--you get a prix-fixe menu of 5 or 7 courses, depending on what day of the week you are there. Reservations are needed.

It will be one of the best, if not the best, meals you will have in your life.

I'll be there Wednesday morning through early Saturday morning. The restaurant sounds wonderful, but it might be more than I could reasonably spend on my travel card, alas. I could afford it on my own, but I'm trying to make sure I spend as little of my own money as I have to! Of course, if I go out drinking, I'm going to pay for that myself, but other than that, it's on MIT.

Oh, almost forgot--Downtown Disney is free to get into. Several good restaurants, and you may wish to make reservations at the restaurant you'd like. There is lots of music, many stages, for many different kinds of music, some known only locally. It's fun, but you will be walking!
