Epilator review
Aug. 4th, 2010 04:00 pmOK, so
* First I did my bikini area. That is, not the bikini LINE, but pretty much a Brazilian. Almost. It hurt incredibly, because I had previously been shaving, not waxing. Some bits were worse than others, but the worst was the, well, "landing strip" as I've heard it called. :) I wasn't able to bring myself to get all of the hair there. It was just too much. If I weren't such a perfectionist, I'd have done my bikini area a bit at a time. Persevering meant that my endorphins kicked in enough for me to be able to finish; however, those endorphins and my adrenaline combined to leave me feeling weak and shaky when I was done. Hopefully, next time around, it'll be easier. I cleaned up with tweezers.
* Underarms. Hurt like a bastard, but a lot faster than the bikini, and not as bad as the bits near the "landing strip." The hardest thing was keeping the skin taut enough, and remembering to go in different directions.
* Legs. Not all my leg hair was long enough to get, but most was. This was only very, very slightly painful. It wasn't the kind of pain that required gritting my teeth and coping, but instead, something more like the sting of washing my mouth with Listerine. It was a slight burning feeling. More irritation than pain, really.
I'm going to go over my underarms and legs again tomorrow, and will keep the bikini area as clean as I can with tweezers, maybe even getting some of the "landing strip" with tweezers, to make that easier to epilate.
All in all: I really hope the bikini area gets easier. It was pretty bad. I might consider the whole teething gel thing. But I like the effect, and will be happy to keep it up and see how much easier it gets.
EDIT: I've cleaned up my legs a bit more since writing this. Still liking it.

Date: 2010-08-04 10:39 pm (UTC)I pluck my eyebrows and mustache in between waxings. I shaved my lip fir decades, but waxing is better for controlling it.
I'll bet your pain isn't the erotic kind, though.
