I haven't been posting much lately.
Sep. 8th, 2010 09:59 amSorry about that!
My life's been pretty busy (with good things), and my cat's getting sick of getting fed just before my bedtime. Sorry, Woogie. I'll feed you at a more reasonable hour tonight. Promise.
Last night, I went to my first Red Sox game with
zzbottom ,
library_sexy , and their friend J. It was depressing. We were getting creamed by the fifth inning and it didn't show signs of improving even after they switched pitchers, so we buggered off for dessert at CBC.
Monday, I went to King Richard's Faire with a bunch of good friends, and that was a blast. Have I mentioned lately how much I love dressing up? I love dressing up. I almost didn't want to take the garb off. I need to ask
geoogo for a copy of the picture he took of me, since I have zero decent pictures of me in garb and would like one. Oh, and
shroderdog got a sword. He probably wants everyone to know this. :)
Tonight I need to run a quick errand and then I can go right home. Dinner will be leftovers, so I SHOULD, theoretically, be able to knit and take a shower AND still get to bed at a decent hour.
Things I need to do this weekend:
* Rack my damned mead. This will take some tinkering, since I haven't done this on my own before. I need to figure out how to use the racking cane setup, and how to make sure it all gets properly sanitized. I've looked at some illustrations that seem pretty simple. I just need to make sure I have the size tubing I need. I SHOULD, I think, but I'll have to check the brew box. When I rack it, I will add the blueberry juice. Mmm.
* Putter in the garden. I need to pick some peppers. Anyone in my area want to stop by and get some jalapeños, cayennes, or mini mystery Italian peppers? Let me know! I also need to see if the basil seeds are harvestable yet. Probably not, but I want to make sure to harvest some when they are. My remaining tomatoes probably won't be ripe yet, though some of them are getting there. The dill and cilantro have re-seeded and sprouted again, so I should probably just water them and let them grow. I should be able to get a second harvest in before the cold sets in.
* Give myself a full manicure and pedicure. I keep intending to do this, but put it off in favor of knitting or just don't have time. I want pretty painted nails and smooth skin, darn it. Aqua? Melon? Melon with coral-pink holographic sparkles on top? Oooh. That might just do it! :D
* Prepare some stuff that I can put in lunches during the week. I haven't been making my lunch enough. I've bought lunch or brought Lean Cuisines to work much too often lately. I have a chicken breast that might do well marinated (honey teryaki?) and baked in foil to keep it moist. I might hunt down some brown sushi rice (Super 88 has it if I can't get it at Whole Foods, which is more convenient) and make some onigiri. With furikake (savory sprinkles), even. I already have some plain cooked quinoa in the freezer, leftover from making my stuffed squash. I need to do some veggies, too. Those, I probably won't want to freeze, so I should do them Sunday afternoon or evening.
* Knit. I'm really enjoying my knitting these days!
* Hopefully, hear from
pierceheart . I miss him.
