This week is fired, that is.
So. I was in a grumpy mood this afternoon. I was managing to get out of it as I left work and started on my way to my new dance class, though. I hit Trader Joe's for a quick sandwich before going to the bus stop to catch the 47. Then it all went to hell in a handbasket.
First, the 47 got stuck in some truly godawful traffic.
Then, it SKIPPED THE STOP I NEEDED, even though I went up front and said to the driver, "this stop, please!" He said he hadn't heard me. He didn't stop to put me down, though, until the next stop. Which was through two wacky intersections. I got turned around. I had to ask a couple of people where to go. By the time I got to the T station I'd wanted to get to in the first place, which had been a few blocks from the bus stop where I tried to get off.
Anyway, by the time I got there, I looked at the time. I calculated that if I got on the subway to go to class, I'd get there 15 minutes after it had started. 1/4 of the class would be done. I was also tired and incredibly stressed. I still couldn't make up my mind whether to try getting to class, or to just give up and go the fuck home. I took out a quarter, and said, "heads, I go to class. Tails, I go home." I flipped it. It came up tails, no cheat. I got on the train going in the other direction and came home. I think it was for the best. As tense as I'd been, I don't think I would have done too well in class.
Now I need to just have a drink and turn on the TV and chill. Oy, what a day.
