Tonight I am going to do the EASY thing. I am going to WALK from work to Fenway station. I wish I'd looked at the map before--it's only a freakin' mile! Then I'll take the green line a few stops and walk for a few more minutes, and I'll be there, nicely warmed up. Shoot. My Tuesday could have gone so much better last week if I'd just USED my damned BRAIN.

*sigh*

Anyway. I feel like such a lump not having gone to EITHER class last week. Then again, I wasn't feeling up to snuff on Thursday, and didn't go to work, so skipping dance seemed like the right thing to do. Now I will get my ass in gear.

Tomorrow I go see [livejournal.com profile] nepenthe01 about Raks Nativity. ([livejournal.com profile] nepenthe01, should I bring anything? And what's the name of the song we're using? I got your map, but not the title.)

Thursday is MORE dance, this time with Najmat. I should ask J. what we did last week that I missed.

So. Other than lack of dance, what's been going on? Well, I learned how to make corn tortillas! I was going to get a package of corn tortillas at the grocery store, for tacos. The only ones they had were a one-pound package. For a one-person household, that's too many. So, I decided to get a five-pound bag of masa harina instead. Now I can make just as many tortillas as I'll need at a given time, and they'll be FRESH and WARM and AWESOME. If I had a tortilla press they would be ridiculously easy. As it is, I've been using the round glass plate from my kitchen scale, wrapped in plastic wrap, and a cutting board wrapped in plastic wrap, to shape them. Pity a tortilla press is a unitasker. Still, it might be worth it--they're really cheap, even the ones from hoity-toity shops are around $20. It would save my arms, too.

Oh, also, I went to the Museum of Science on Saturday with [livejournal.com profile] shroderdog and Captain Awesome. It was a hoot. Dinner at the Ale House with them and [livejournal.com profile] bakuwaki was also fabulous, as was the chattiness that kept us all awake far too long at their place afterwards.

I think I need to go visit my parents soon. It's been a while since I went there. I've seen them three times since May, but it was up here in Boston--that's a switch! It would be kind of good to get out of the city briefly and just chill at their place for a weekend. Get some knitting done, chat, cook, eat, walk around the yard and garden...

OK, better get going on work again, now...

I'll try to remember to send you a copy when I get home. It's called Abdullaz Ala Keefik and it's a very cheeky song from the Dancing with Genies album. I envision tomorrow night as a session where we try out some of the ideas and see if they work physically, and divide up the song into loose sections of "let's do this here, then this happens, then this." We can refine it over time.

Also I can probably give you a ride back to your house afterwards.

That would be awesome! Do you need me to bring my veils? I've got one smallish rectangular silk, two larger semicircular silks, and a larger rectangular chiffon. All the silks need ironing, I'm sure, but I doubt that'd be a big deal for practice.

It doesn't hurt! I'll have all of mine too but we'll probably need a bunch to practice with. We may end up filling in the blanks with folded up sheets and such and just use the veils when we do tricks with them.

If it's a pain for you to bring your veils, don't worry about it.

No worries! Luckily, I can take the #90, which leaves right from Assembly Square, giving me plenty of time to pick up veils and eat dinner! Super-easy!
