Food, for thought
Oct. 13th, 2010 09:44 amI was just reading the Pioneer Woman's cooking blog. I do this a lot. Every day, in fact. I was looking at a recipe for braised short ribs that I NEED to make sometime soon. Her MO is to take you step by step through the cooking process with photos, interpersed with narrative instructions and little comments. One of her little comments was this:
That just made me smile. Thought it might do the same for anyone else out there for whom food is a spiritual experience. :)
I’m in love with this world. Just look at what it provides us: root vegetables from the ground. Fragrant herbs from the fertile soil. Meat, to nourish our bones. Wine, to nourish everything else.
I’m not quite sure where the pancetta fits in yet, but I’ll get back with you on that.
