Toupee or not toupee?
Apr. 16th, 2004 04:35 pmEr, that is, to pay or not to pay?
I just looked at the paid account info, and it's not that expensive at all. $25 for a year, fuck, I can do that. My question to all of you who have, or used to have, a paid account: is it worth it? I very much like the option of having 15 picture spots. I would really like to have a few more. I also like posting by phone, and having an LJ address that I can put up and make available publicly on LJ. And custom mood icons. A lot of the other stuff doesn't matter much to me, though--stuff like embedding the LJ in my homepage, domain forwarding... stuff like that.
Let me know what you guys think. Thanks!

Not necessary, but damn convenient.

Date: 2004-04-16 05:14 pm (UTC)Hi. Who are you? You added Badseed and me to your friends list. Was that random? Do either of us know you?
I like your use of Robin Wood's deck in your icon...

Date: 2004-04-16 08:08 pm (UTC)Yeah, to be honest, I noticed Badseed's posts (especially the Cthulu talking in his sleep) on nonfluffypagans so I friended her because I found her blog interesting.
Then, I noticed Tisana commenting therein and friended her for similar reasons.
I rather doubt that I know either you in person, since I haven't been to the US in years and since I tend to be reclusive on my home turf (Ottawa and Montreal) as well.
Please to meetcha....
as for the nifty icon a lost friend made it for me aeons ago and I just recycled it
{looks around sheepishly having run out of stuff to type}

Date: 2004-04-16 08:36 pm (UTC)My real name's Dominik, although I don't bandy it about too often on LJ. I was born in Warsaw, Poland. I've lived in Baghdad (1980-81) and near Vienna (Austria) as a kid. We arrived in Canada as political refugees in November of 1983 (I'd just turned 6). Got my Canadian citizenship sometime during late elementary school (grade 4 or 5 I think).
But yeah, if one has to choose between too many/much:
1.) snakes (Australia)
2.) guns (USA)
3.) snow (Canada)
then I most heartily approve of my mother's logic in choosing #3.
The older I get, the more I like living here. :)

My 2 cents
Date: 2004-04-17 01:33 pm (UTC)My ancestors were among the first of the French families to settle in Canada, so I'm part French-Canadian as well (though mostly Irish and Native American with a smattering of Anglo-Saxon thrown in the mix).
Nice to have a new face in the crowd!
