Friend looking for a roommate

I have a friend--a thoroughly decent and nifty woman--who is looking for a roommate to take the place of one who's moving out of her Cambridge house. She lives with two other people, both men, and is looking for a fourth person. They have a "sweet but short tempered" cat. The rent is $700/month plus utilities, which tend to run about $100 per person in winter. $1400 is due at move in which includes a security deposit. The room is available Feb. 1. My friend is about my age, and is a teacher. I believe her roomates are also about the same age. She's happy to provide more info to anyone who's interested.

Would they take a woman with one other cat? (Or would them having a short tempered one preclude that? Maybe their cat needs company?)

I think their cat has gotten along OK with some cats but not others. It's certainly worth asking. Want me to pass along her contact info?

Well, let me see if my friend Christine (velvetdragon on LJ) is up for living with 3 other people. She lives in Lowell now, but got hired from her temp position to be fulltime, and it's in Boston, so she's looking to have less of a hellacious commute. I can vouch for her as being a good roommate, considerate, easy to live with. (I haven't lived with her, but have known her for a long time and known her other roomies.)
