Ok, so no crossover between Get Fuzzy and Doonesbury. I guess both the writers just decided to get serious at the same time.

Did my solo for the class last night. It turned out ok. Apparently I do "fabulous" belly rolls. :) Now I just need to practice, practice, practice until that and the group number are so automatic that I can do them without thinking, and concentrate more on attitude onstage. The recital's over 2 weeks away. That's plenty of time.

My work computer caught a virus yesterday. Friends and neighbors, be careful going to the Quizilla site. That's where I caught it. Didn't download anything or open e-mail attachments, it just sort of "injected itself" into my computer, in the words of one of our techie people. It was a bit of a bugger to get rid of, but he managed to do it. Yay!

I have the Hedgehog Song stuck in my head. Which is just silly. First of all, it's a silly song. Second of all, I don't even know if anyone's written a tune for it. I love Terry Pratchett. He so cool.

Time to start the day. Bleah.

I seem to recall you did some damn good belly rolls and commenting on it...Yeah, have to agree with that assessment.

When's your recital? Are you up for having friends come to show support? Or is it not that kind of thing?

Hmm. Haven't done any actual belly rolls in a recital before. I *did* do vertical ribcage circles, which also require some good torso muscle control.

I guess I can't escape people coming to my recital. It's weird how I have no issues about performing in front of a ton of perfect strangers, but the idea of dancing in front of my friends scares the shit out of me. Maybe because some of them, i.e, you and aelisdeliria are also dancers, and I always get this really awkward feeling about performing in front of you two for that reason.

Well, if it'll only cause you stress, I don't have to go. The point is supporting, not stressing.

Though...the good thing about having dancers as an audience, is that when you do something that's damn tough, they really can appreciate the work that went into it. A few times during safirasilv's show, I turned to dee_cee and explained, "That's hard to do," as way of explaining the sounds of awe coming from me.

No, it does cause me stress, but it's also nice to have my friends show up. It's like a double-edged sword. And not the just-for-show ones that the girls were chasing eachother around with all through the last recital. :)

I don't really do anything very tough in my solo. I think that the most impressive thing is that it's my first solo, and I choreographed it all by myself, and that the only advice my instructor had was "do fewer of the slow moves, so you can do them REALLY slow to show them off more, and put a sequin in the middle of your veil edges so it's easier to gauge where you're holding it."

i enjoyed the recital last year and enjoy watching you dance. would it be okay for me to come and see, if finances allow it?

Yes, anyone who wants to can come. I think it was just $5 last time. If you want, I can cover you. I'll be nervous, but it's nice to know people want to see it. It would be nice to have a bunch of people there, even though it makes me nervous too. :)
