Of all the luck
Jul. 22nd, 2006 06:29 pmThis afternoon, my cell phone was working fine. I texted
pierceheart with it at about 2:15 to tell him I was going to a movie with
geoogo, and turned it off when I got into the theater. I got out of the movie at a little after 5, and turned the phone on again. It was fine. I came home, and thought, "Oh, my phone was low on batteries. I'll plug it in and charge it up." So I did, and read for a bit. Then I realized it was getting late and I hadn't yet heard from
pierceheart saying he was home. I went to call him, but my phone was dark. Oh, no problem, I must have turned it off at some point. Pressed the power button.
Nothing.
Unplugged the phone and tried again. Nothing. Re-plugged it and tried again. Nothing. Tried my other charger. Nothing. The charger is giving power to the phone. A few of the buttons light up when I plug it in. But not all of them: just a few that are close to where the charger plugs into the phone. But it's NOT TURNING ON. Within the space of an hour, my cell phone broke. For no apparent reason. It's just dead.
FUCK.
I cannot afford a new phone right now. This one is NOT that old, either. I have no idea what I'm going to do. *sigh*
EDIT: apparently the problem was that for some reason, the charger connection was faulty, and it ended up DRAINING the battery instead of recharging it. I unplugged it and plugged it in for about the tenth time, and THAT time the connection took. It's charging now, and has charged enough for me to turn the phone on. Thank the gods.
