Oy. I'm only beginning to remember my dreams from last night. One involved looking around my parents' neighborhood for [livejournal.com profile] pierceheart. I walked from their place down the street to Albion Park (small playground next to a little pond), and found it was completely overgrown and marshy. I started going back to my parents' place, and halfway there I found this sort of carnival had been set up (in the, like, 5 minutes I'd been gone) in the road. People were also getting out lawn chairs to sit and watch...shooting stars or something. I found [livejournal.com profile] pierceheart there, and he teased me a little about not being able to find him when he was RIGHT THERE (but he HADN'T been!). [livejournal.com profile] erik_j_meyer was there too. WEIRD. This whole thing took place just after sunset when there was still a little light in the sky. It reminded me, for some reason, of the time I was at my parents' place one summer around that time of day, and we saw a crawfish walking down the street. Er, creeping. Crawling. Scuttling. Whatever. It was utterly bizarre. We think it must have been living in Albion Pond. Imagine the nearest water is an itty-bitty pond several blocks away, and you see something that looks like a mini-lobster strolling along the blacktop. o_O THAT, my friends, was as weird as my dreams, but TRUE.

I also had some kind of dream about Martha Stewart (or was it a character who was supposed to be LIKE Martha Stewart?) killing someone and going to trial for it. It was like an episode of Law and Order without the Law and Order characters. It was like it was real life and not a TV show, but I was nothing but a passive observer of events, as with TV. I think that one may have involved a stuffed monkey, too, but I don't remember.

Oh yeah, gotta love PMS and the screwy things it does to my dreams. And it's EARLY this time. Grr.

My interview yesterday went well, by the way. It sounds like this job could be exactly what I want, and I might even be exactly what THEY want. I may get an interview as soon as next week! Squee! After that I had pinchy things for dinner. And beer. Mmm, hoppy beer!

I plugged my phone in last night to charge it, but was doing some weird stuff. Hard to describe. Anyway, I left it plugged in overnight, but when I woke up, it hadn't taken a charge. Grr. I plugged it in again at work today, but it was still not charging. I ended up wiping off the little metal connction points on the phone that touch other points on the charger, and tried again. Bingo! I LIKE it when things are easy to fix like that. :)

Pagans' Night Out tonight! Yay! I haven't been in what feels like ages. I might end up being bad and getting nachos for dinner because 1) it's the most filling appetizer, and $3.50 appetizers during happy hour = cheap dinner for Laura, and 2) Phoenix Landing makes excellent nachos. Yum. Ah heck, I've been good today otherwise, and I'll be doing a lot of healthy cooking for myself while the boy is out of town.

Speaking of healthy food, does anyone know of a place that has decent but cheap seafood (like, plain raw seafood, not cooked or prepared)? Fresh and frozen are both ok. McKinnon's sometimes has some, but not much. T-accessible is a must, and it can't be too far from where I live (since summer weather will thaw or warm the stuff on a long ride home.) Basically, I would LOVE to find a place that is for seafood what McKinnon's is for meat.

Tomorrow after work, I am definitely going to hit Garment District again. What I REALLY need are shoes. I tried DSW's clearance section yesterday, as well as Payless and Marshall's downtown, but of those three places, only DSW had black pump-like shoes in my size, and none of them actually fit me well. Grr. I wish the surfaces in this town weren't so hard on my shoes. I can't tell you how many times I've felt my heel slip into a big crack between bricks or cobblestones or something, and lost a heel cap because of it. It happens to at least one if not both shoes in each pair of slender-heeled shoes I buy. And it's not like these are stilettos, either. They just aren't hugely chunky. I also need to buy a pair of sneakers to wear outside, or maybe (at least for the summer) I'll start wearing my Tevas whenever I need to walk around outside. *sigh*
